The 2020x - no one ever mentions

No one seems to talk abou the 2020x how is it?
I dont see many up for sale so I guess its pretty good.
How do they compare to the 3120 now that weve all had a *little time to see both?

thanks for input

The 2020x

Buzz--

I own a 3120 and I've played a 2020 on a few occassions, so I can provide about $0.01.

The 2020's piezos are really cool--they sound really great combined with the mahogany body. Unfortunately, the Ibanez pickups are really disappointing. They could be easily be replaced, but I'm usually not looking to spend $150 additional on new pickups when I buy a guitar that costs that much.

Personally, I like the look of the 3120--mine has a really sweet flamed maple top. I prefer the visual 'wow' factor becuase I can't think of many cases where I'd put the piezos to good use. (but that's just me)

PS--My 100th post--time for a new dot!

The 2020x

Depending on how my tax return comes back, the 2020 is next on my list. *I would consider a 2027, but I have a UV, so that covers the 7 string area. *The neck on it is pretty sweet. *Up towards the nut, the back of the neck is kind of beveled, which is comfortable while chording low stuff.
I know I'll be happy with the piezo's. *It's just the price that will be my least favorite.

The 2020x

wow thanks guys, thaks for the input.
it sounds just like my 2027 (had to replace those p/u's right away)
the cool thing aobut it is that you can have the piezo and just buy whatever pickups you want.. sweet.. well you should get decent ones with that price, but the 3120 would be a lot harder to get piezo .
anyhow thanks

Buzz--

For the record, the 3120 has a Tone Zone and a PAF Pro in it. They are quite awesome in a mahogany body. If you DO get the 2020 and want to replace the pickups, I highly recommend those.
