The DY is now here too (couple of pics..)

#1917 (soooooo close to 1987...)

And here's my #1798 RFR again:

Both the RG20ths scream, but the RFR just nudges it for my #1 vote. It's a bit smoother, fuller and rounder sounding. The DY is all pinched harmonics and bite.

The pickups are pretty hot with lots of edge, I've had to drop the bridge pup down to tame it!

Ha ha!

The 20ths play superbly. No difference between them. Very slick, super fast and they just scream for flid legato lines. Superb guitars.

Bikeman, how is the weight of your 20th's compared to the originals? My 20th is very heavy considering it's basswood. Feels more like mahogany!

Not checked scientifically Dee, but I didn't notice any difference. I'll have to weigh them...

Your RFR sounds different from your DY? I'm curious about that

They are the same guitar as long as you are saying the comparison is between the 20ths and not the originals.

Congrats BTW

Yep, I'm comparing the two RG20ths. They sound pretty different to me, and I've adjusted the pickup heights to match on both of them. DIfferent planks of wood, different sound.

Hmm. I guess that makes sense but I would't think they would be that different but I'll take your word for it bro. I need to give mine a side by side sound test and see how mine stack up.

I know that acoustic guitars tend to be FAR more variant from guitar to guitar in the same models but I have never thought electrics would be that greatly affected that it would have an actual audible difference.

As long as it is a GOOD difference , more power to it
