Question

The New S prestige

So i am a pretty big S fan i guess you could say. For a short dude like me they are pretty rad guitars. I unfortunatly only have one in my fleet of two Ibanez's. My S is a 2170se from last years prestige line. The S has been changes a lot since the early days of the line. I have played a few 540s and I LOVE THEM. I have been desperatly searching for a old S but they are hard to find in a town where people seem to be under the impression that Strats, Teles, and Les Pauls are the only guitars fit to play. I was wondering what your opinions on this years Prestiges are. I have only played a Hermal Lee sig. It was expensive and IMO disqusting.

Another side question, if you could buy an S from any year which one would it be? The only stipulation is it cant be an SA or anything like that i want a floating trem.

Re: The New S prestige

I'd like a s2170 burl top, or have it in 24 frets, burl tops are my favorite for natural finish
or the honey sunburst burl top s prestige from 2003 i think?

How is the herman sig disgusting? looks or playability? how are the pickups comparable to?

I've been lusting for the S2020x guitar with the double edge piezo. Lots of features and it looks simple and classy.

Re: The New S prestige

I got myself an S5470 a few days ago and i really love it. It's just really fun to play, and when I'm not playing it, i want to be playing it. In other words, my opinion of it is pretty high, it's an awesome guitar.

Re: The New S prestige

The one S I always wished I would have picked up was the .....I think it was the 1625 or something like that ..maybe 1525. Anyway...it was a Prestige model S in 03'. That guitar still gives me chills! I opted for the 470DXQM which I just unloaded to get an S-7320. No more sixers for me!

I have no idea. The just dont have floating trems.

I found a 540 in a shop a few days about for 300 but it was really really dinged up. Also one of the positions on the toggle didnt work.-

Re: The New S prestige

There's a very nice neck-through model... I wouldn't mind one of these:

I don't really like the new ones with the flat finish. I prefer a glossy finish on a flamed top.
In fact, all guitars should have figured tops. I only got the S7320 because it was so damn cool that I wanted it *despite* the black colour. It's the only guitar without a figured top (or at least natural finish) that I own/have owned.

Re: The New S prestige

Take it from me, stay away from the SAT-PRO trems they are by far the biggest peice of crap for a trem I have ever owned. But the SAS36FM was a nice looking guitar dont get me wrong!

Played them all. There is NO competition. S540LTD original wizard neck with sharktooth inlays AND the Custom Made inlay + original edge trem.

Re: The New S prestige

do the new S's have 24 frets this year because I got an Ibanez newsletter saying something about 24 fret S and the S prestige main page says 24 frets. I swear they only had 22
