The official Finish my RG thread.

I have ordered two alder replacement bodies from Christopher Woods, and while I know what I want to do with the JEM body, I really have not made up my mind on how to finish the other body, so I thought it might be fun to have a little collective vote.

The body is a standard RG 550 body with front route, so a pick guard will be used, and here is what I have in mind. I see several guys here with some Photoshop talent, and of course there are many very nice customs already, so I thought it might be fun to let everyone throw out some ideas, and then vote on the final design. Hopefully the ideas will be flowing, and once we get several ideas or everyone just gets bored, I will pick 3-4 ideas and then everyone can vote on their favorite. I will then ship the body to SCS and have it finished in the winning design.

Sound like fun or just a stupid idea?

It's great to get some input from others. Do you have anything in mind in general though? A solid color? A swirl? A picture or symbol painted on? What kind of necks do you have for them?

Well yes, but I didn’t want to throw out any ground rules if everyone yawned when they read this.

Here is what I don’t want to consider.

Swirls (Just don’t do it for me)
Standard RG colors (LNG, DY, etc.)
Any finish that already comes from the factory.

Remember anything can be posted up for ideas, and I have even spent some time looking at fabric swatches for something cool.

Some of those designs are nice, it is hard to choose which one would look best, they're all pretty cool, I like the gold sparkle on Dick Dale's Strat too, I think that would look cool too, sounds like an interesting project.
