Re: The RG 520?

I have one and I can tell you that it is an amazing guitar to play. Same neck as the RG550's. The only difference of the guitar is two humbuckers with no single coil, which I quite like alot.

yeah i like that fact that it has a wizard neck but even more important is the mahogany body, i heard it really helps give a RG a fatter tone?

Re: The RG 520?

Mine is exactly the same as that one in the pic on the link. I can't say I noticed it being made of Mahogany to be honest.

Just did a bit of research for you, and the 520 is in basswood which mine is probably in and the 520Q is quilted on top with the mahogany body. Either way, still an amazing guitar to play with that Wizard neck.

Re: The RG 520?

its an rg520qs in blue, i have one in trans black. i love it, its my beater axe to keep the miles off of my rgt3120 and rg2120x. loaded with an/tz. great axe. they are quite desirable now. going rate is about $500usd in the used market. way more than a regular rg5xx on the used market.

Re: The RG 520?

I like the 2-humbucker design vs anything with single-coils myself but it appears that the 520 is not very common.

It comes with an edge? I thought they're not produce anymore or is it N.O.S.

Re: The RG 520?

I have an RG520QS also... It's almost a dark brown, but I think the specs call it trans black. It's a great guitar! I like the mahogany body and the abscence of the single coil pickup. I rarely use the middle pickup, so having this out of the way gives some freedom.

You should be able to obtain one for less than 500 dollars... I'd say between 350-400 in good shape with a case.

Great guitar!

Thats right, the edge isnt made anymore, apart from spares i think, unless that's just left over stock. Even the 520 isnt made anymore, we're talking about the second hand market.

I love the fact that there are bargains to be had on the secondhand market. I've picked up some amazing guitars in amazing condition for little money.

Re: The RG 520?

I have 2 RG520QS's, trans blue (practically black). I liked the first one so much, I bought a second one. Very good bang for the buck. Esp. if you like the super thin super wizard neck (3 piece wizard). A lot like a 570, but with no middle pickup to get in the way, plus a mahogany body.
