Thought about buying 2 RG's and putting them together?

I have always liked certain features on certain RG's and wished some of mine had them.

Like I have always loved the RG770 necks but not the neck joint. Anyone ever tried to put a RG450 or 270DX neck on a RG5XX? That would make one sweet guitar. Wizard II neck with an Edge or Lo Edge. And then you should also be left with enough to put together another guitar to E-bay

By the same token I have always wanted to get a RG570 and a RG570L and swap the necks and the trems.
Then keep the RGR570 for me and sell the leftie.
The thing is it would have to be to a Hendrix/SRV fan who's into superstrats.

The Korean Wizard II will fit in the RG's neck pocket.
The only difference will be that the bolt hole pattern may differ slightly.

I actually prefer the feel of the Wizard II neck as it's profile is almost exactly like a JEM neck.

I like the Wizard II as well, they are both equal to me preferance wise. I just like the feel of bounded necks as oppose to frets to the edge feel.

FYI the frets extend equal amount on a bound or unbound fretboard. I like the MIJ Wizard-II necks quite alot myself ...glen

I have a MAJ Wixard II on my RG570CT which works quiet well. But I am also spoiled on the RG520 Wizard neck.

Looking through Ebay a various other vendors, I believe I can build a RG770 copy with parts including:

RG520 QS body (plus the Edge)
RG350DX or 270DX Neck (Wizard II)

But whats the specs on the Wizard II from a 350 or 270? Wouldn't they be Korea necks?

Strip that body down to natural wood (like the one by gtrcollector in
http://www.jemsite.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=20758) And a bound neck with those Shark Tooth inlays, it would be beautiful! And hopefully plyable as well.

True, but the fret tang (the part that bites into the fretboard) is cut back, leaving a smooth fretboard edge, unlike unbound necks.

And if anybody wants to build that RG5xx with a lefty tremolo, I'll take it, since I'm that SRV/Hendrix fan who's into superstrats.

Wow! Great job.

That Mahogany project guitar looks amazing, I'm jealous, it loooks like my RG2027VV. Nice work.

Well I have contacted the people (Cant say it here I believe) about the parts. Lets see what kind of prices they give.

It might really be cheaper to buy 2 guitars build it and sell the one leftover. We shall see soon.
