Re: TO XIPHOS OR NOT TO XIPHOS?

I've heard they're great guitars & really shred, but I've never played one. The edge III is a decent trem, BUT it's made with inferior (soft) metal. So if you abuse a trem it probably won't last long. If you hardly use the bar, then it should be a non-issue. Of course you could always swap out trems for a better one later on.

To Xiphos. I like 'em. Especially with those wonderful chameleon finishes.

They're a required taste, though.

I have no idea in what way the fact that they're Indonesian made affects the build quality. But if that guy from Necrophagist uses them on stage... Judging by that I'd say they're reliable enough.

i think there pretty cool and all but they just dont look as cool as the old x series from the early 80's that they are based on.

To Xiphos. If i bought a stock guitar ever again and wanted it to be a so-called "metal guitar" the Xiphos would be on my short list. The Dimarzios sound fantastic in it, the neck is great, and the Edge 3...well let's say I had an RG with an Edge 3 for 3 years + and it didnt cause me one single problem the entire time with excessive use. Ive seen em sell for about 400, which is a pretty great price for a neck thru with nice Dimarzios and such. Also, its quite comfy to play sitting down which isnt something that can be said for most of the radically shaped guitars I've tried.

I played it and loved it. The stock pickups are greeeat. I like the radical shaped guitars anyway, so if I had the chance to get this then I would without a second thought.

I don't like radical shapes really, I would like it to have a better trem and I do like the colors
I'd like to see a 7 string with trem model too

Re: TO XIPHOS OR NOT TO XIPHOS?

I think the only qualms I have about buying one are the relatively poor choice of trem, the neck drop I hear about and the glossy neck.

I don't see why you just don't get an RG, I guess unless you REALLY want a radical shape

Not to Xiphos, eventually you will more than likely grow out of the pointy guitar thing, then be stuck with a guitar no body wants.
