Turning my RG770 in the UCGR that never was but should ve been

I got a black RG770 and a red 540R a couple of months back. The both looked very dull compared to the rest of my guitars so I had to do something about it.

The project paint thats is going to be used in the 540R is very original and hard to put into words, but the RG770 is going to be a more traditional customization.

Basically an Airbrish in the front, with the sides, back and headstock in flip-flop paint (lightblue/blue/violet).

Since it has sharktooth inlays I guess the following graphic is fitting:

Here is a half assed mockup that I did to get a rough idea of what to expect (basically just the position and size of the shark and the little fish). The guitar will have the proper illustration as showned above.

The project is going to take about 35-40 days, so its going to take a while before a I can post picks of the actual guitars, but as soon as I get it (along with the 540R and a custom guitar I ordered almost a year ago that is nearing completition now) I ll post them.

i'd take some pickups out of the way, to clean up the look and to show more of the graphics. and the tone knob as well

I'm in love with the graphic (because its not too serious and has a cartoony look), but just out of curiosity, what kind of graphic would you have chosen?

The other atractive of this graphic is the colour palette that allows for the sue of a blue/violet flip flop paint on the back, sides and headstock.

Nuno, I thought about it, and actually tried a few other lay outs, but there's not much to be gained (unless you go with smaller figures, and it doesnt look as good as the size I chose).

Actually the knobs dont really bother, the main problem is the Lo Pro Edge and this is the best arrangement I could came up with.

To be honest, I don't like graphics on guitars. However, I realize plenty of people do and if it makes you happy, that's cool. I really don't want to come across as an ass. What you do with it is entirely down to personal taste. Best of luck with your project!

I LOVE great white sharks, but I would never put it on a guitar, especially a 770DX.

+1

That would be a crime to do that to such a guitar! But I'm with Dee, I'm typically not too fond of graphics on guitars either, so take my advice FWIW.

I surely wouldn't do it though.

A shrimp is a good idea!!!

Im just trying to something differen than the typical "flaming skulls" "tribal" and that kind of stuff. Im just to old for it and its been done over and over again.

I actually liked the ideas sers gave. The poisoned apple would be interesting, may be a "rotten apple horn" ala Freak Kitchen.

Im sure some of you guys will be "conversed" when you see the finished product.

I ll make believers out of all you!!!!

That's it! Im putting a cartoony shrimp on the headstock!

Well may be not in the headstock, but something is missing on the side of the volumen control....
