Used RG500 prices going down?

I just got a brand new RG570 for 550€, guess that's pretty cheap for Europe. Anyway I was thinking that are the used prices gonna fall thru the roof because of all the new models? So should I get rid of this now for about 600€ or are the new models total flops so I'd get 700€ after a year or so?

You buy a RG5- series to shred it into pieces (figuratively speaking of course , not to sell it again from a business point of view

It would make a nice deal though, have fun with it

Sorry for the confusing message, my true intention was of course not to buy the guitar to start making business but to rock the hell out of it.

But on these few days I've played my music taste has changed quite a bit. When I got the RG I wanted to play mostly hard rock, but as time has passed I have turned to "softer" styles suck as blues, jazz and music like Santana. But on the other hand I still love to play for example Metallica. The RG is good for that but not so for the first couple of styles I listed.

Anyhow I thought that I'd play with the RG for a while now and then change to a good old strat (don't hit me, don't hit me! ). You can't beat the versatility of a strat. You can get those high tones like Santana and with a fat strat you can even get some balls if you're gonna play hard rock.

Anyway the reason I posted in the first place was that I was wondering of a great drop in the prices with all the new gadgets on the new Ibanez models (of course if they turn out to be a success). You understand, that of course I want my guitar change to be as economical as possible...

Well, when any guitar is discontinued, 2nd hand prices are liable to go up, especially with the 5xx series, as they're so popular. Imagine if they discontinued the Telecaster. Suddenly any chump with a 2002 squier would find himself able to sell it for almost as much as he bought it...

Thanks, this was the answer I was looking for. Anyhow I understood that there would be replacements for the 500's, don't they change the situation?

You can actually sell that guitar for more than what you paid for it new?

I can see this in models where there's a limited production and not everyone who wanted one was able to buy it.

Anyway, there are always people out there who would want to buy the older/original model even though there is a new replacement.

As far as price...I don't think anyone can really predict it.
