Vai Wavy fret

You will see that Vai has a wavy first fret, anyone know where he got this done because it looks soooooo coooool and want to get it on my RG

It's Yamaha's take on better intonation. You can also see them the first Yamaha Frank Gambale model.

fret wave system, I don't think he uses it anymore. It's half a feiten system, basically Steve doesn't use that anymore either.

I they said that was Evo. It wasnt it Flo that had the wavy fret?

Yeah, it wasn't Evo. The vai.com forum could probably tell you date installed, the first time he tuned it, etc

I think you'd be better off with a good setup, personally.

It was FLO in the picture

Quite recent picture, he only added that Green tape to the sustainer in the last 2 years

Other then Mikey, I don't see much that helpful there anymore. Much more info here. It seems the vai forum at least over the last year or so has been over run with kids asking some of the most basic vai questions and nobody can even give a correct answer on it, half the responses I've seen are just somebody else guessing just as much. I joined the Vai forum first, then came here and learned way more much faster, know I go back there and just really wonder who is posting some of that information.

yeah i kinda stopped posting over on vai.com because alot of the qestions had been asked before in some form or another in the gear sections and i never really messed with any of the other topics .
