Re: Waiting for 1989 RG 760
I think that thing would look sweet with a pickguard. don't see many ibbys that are SSH with a pick guard. Pearloid? Black Pearloid!!!

The best way to post pics is to upload them to a photobucket account and copy and paste the IMG tag to the post, or if you don't want to use a personal account use tinypic.com. Same thing upload your pic and then copy the IMG code and paste it here...
I think it would look cool with a purple mirror pickguard! I had an RG550DXPN (same color as yours I think) with a blue mirror pickguard and it looked sweet as well...Congrats on the new axe bro

Re: Waiting for 1989 RG 760
Thanks for the responses guys, I was looking at custom pick guards on ebay so I'll have to decide on one. I'm planning on getting the tremolo bar tomorrow. This thing plays awesome,I may never touch my strat again-I'm so bored with the Fender sound at this point, getting this Ibanez has definitely inspired me.

Re: Waiting for 1989 RG 760
That guitar looks awesome. Another thing I noticed about mine is that it doesn't have the original pickups, I have no idea what they are but they'll do for now.

No way to tell what pups you have, but they sound nice and clean in you vids........ great tone man, albeit a little "wet".

Re: Waiting for 1989 RG 760
Thanks, I've been trying to get something of an original sound together. I need to find a happy medium between having a spacious delay with a tone that is still 'present'..it is so easy to use too much delay but then you lose attack and articulation...an ongoing process to be sure.

Re: Waiting for 1989 RG 760
Nice guitar!! Checked out the youtube vid too. Sounds great and you play great! RGTFanatic, I am in the same boat as you....playing (almost) 30 years and still trying to find my sound
Anyway, Megalon, a few years back I put a pick guard on my RG570. I had to cut away the wood from the body to fit the pickup selector and vol/tone knobs through as they were all too short to go through the thickness of the wood & pick guard. In retrospect, I could have got longer post vol/tone knobs and cut away less wood.

Re: Waiting for 1989 RG 760
Thanks. Yeah, I'm still trying to figure out what to do as far as a pick guard on the 760. I'm thinking either black or white or a mirror as someone else suggested. Anybody know the best place to get a pick guard for a 1989 760?
