waiting on an Ibanez RG620x - anybody have one?

i won't get it till the end og next week (coming from Montana). does anybody here own one and if so, what are your thoughts?
it seems like it is like an RG520 w/ the LR Baggs double edge. the galaxy black paint job looks pretty cool but it would be nice to own some guitars with a little more color . i post thoughts on it when it arrives.

I liked mine alot. Only sold it because I needed the cash. Loved being able to have two sounds at the same time. Plus it was set up perfect. I miss it allot to be honest!

i like the idea of having two sounds and combining the sounds together - that is something i didn't have on my S2020xav. Ibanez didn't put the ability to combine the sounds on my '00 model. the Parker Fly model i have combines the sounds or splits them. you get the best of everything! i am really looking forward to playing the 620!

Agreed, I had a 2027 prior to the change in electronics and I never did the KJG mod to it. But I also used to have a parker fly deluxe and both outputs together are just magnificent.

I'm on the prowl for another Iby piezo, but just a 6 string this time. Love the parker necks, but the body shape just didn't feel right to me and that horn always poked the crap out of my sternum, I wear the guitar up pretty high when I play and that just didn't work for me, too uncomfortable.

i guess i like the "unusual" look of the Parker as it has really grown on me and is very "modern" next to my family of guitars (around 18 at the moment). i sit down at my acoustic gigs and it sits a little funny in my lap, but i don't have any problems w/ the horn in my chest. i really need to have the frets leveled or polished as they seem to buzz a little if the action is lowered. right now the action is a little high for my taste and style - no biggie.
i have really fallen in love with the deluxe M style Parker w/ the beautiful mahogany and two hum pup configuration. the Parker trem looks like it is a quality trem as well. the Wilkinson on mine is still very nice and the pups have a wide range of tones.
i haven't tried it out at a normal electric gig yet as i'm still "breaking in" my newest baby - Jem777VBK '90 version.
i am looking forward to the RG620xGK which will be here tomorrow.
i bought the Fly on a recommendation from my fellow jemsiters - who BTW, aren't helping my 12-step GAS program i'm currently failing at!!

The Parker trem design is pretty cool and it functions alright, except it will clunk due to the design of the flat steel spring. That "clunk" resonates through the guitar and introduces some interesting noises that aren't welcome in my opinion. That was another reason I dumped it. I found the ibanez piezo trem far superior in design.

I don't know if Parker addressed this in subsequent designs or not, but for me it was an issue. Just something to look out for.

i used the RG620xGK last monday night almost right out-of-the-box.i rarely use a guitar at a gig that i haven't gone over from tip to tip, but this one still had the plastic on it and is MINT. i checked the battery out (was new) and the action and tuning - all was perfect. she stayed in my hands thru the whole gig. the finish is really cool! the sound was extremely cool! the playability was as expected from a Japanese RG- perfect. i split the signal thru the Peavey 110efx and my tube combo (Ampeg JetII) and the sound was HUGE!! for a guitar i paid less than half of retail for - i'm very happy with the pro applications on it.
what is the difference between the Prestige version? just the neck? how much difference is there in the neck? a cool Prestige logo and sometimes a nice overlay is all i can see.

and a new, lower profile Edge Pro Bridge that feels much better. Ibanez tossed the Piezo's in the new bridge, your 620x has the standard Edge bridge. Pray that you never break a saddle on that thing, I was paranoid that would happen, I cant imagine waiting for a replacement would be much fun! Nevermind the fact that I duno where id even start lookin for a replacement Edge Piezo saddle!

I owned a 620X, it was a GREAT guitar. However, for Acoustic sounds, nothing beats the VARIAX! I sold it, and now im gonna pick up a RG1570 to compliment m Variax.

i used to own the S2120xAV and i never had any problems with the saddles. this guitar will spend its life gigging at sit down acoustic duo performances, teaching and of course - home playing. it won't get a full-electric-workout, i have plenty of guitars for that.
i plan to baby this axe - she is such a beauty!
