what do you guys think?

i went to try out some guitars today and i came across a predicament.

I like the size of the RG

But i liked the lightness of the S

Any guitars fit this criteria lol.

Re: what do you guys think?

to be more serious though, were you only considering ibanez guitars? and what's your price range? there are a few other brands that fit the bill for both those attributes.

Re: what do you guys think?

yeah, i've been mostly looking at Ibanez.

I basically want a guitar thats very versatile for many styles from metal to rock to jazz to blues to lighter "emo/harcore"

i would prefer having a wammy bar as well.

If you can find '94 RG 670 with light ash body, that's would be perfect for you.
It's the lightest RG I ever owned.
but..
it's japan domestic model, to find one of it is slighly pain in the ass..

mine was sold like 3 years ago..

Re: what do you guys think?

dont be afraid to try a few guitars from the 80s', price on these is very attractive and you get ALOT of guitar for your money

kramer, hamer, peavey, Electra all had fairly light bodies and good strat-size metal guitars. they had great pickups and fantastic Floyd Rose or Kahler trem.

good luck with your search

A schecter is mahogany and is heavier than my RG. I like my C-1 but I love my RG. My RG has EMGs and the Schecter has DiMarzios.

Unless you absolutely have to have a floyd.... the fixed bridge RG's are very light and play great!
Unfortunately, you're out of luck if you want a Prestige-level fixed bridge. The non-Prestige models are pretty good, though, as well.
