What exactly is this model?

Is this a 770 or one of those odd model 550s?

Can anybody tell me exactly what model this is??

Thanks!

Looks like a early 90's RG 750's.

Shark tooth inlays with pickguard and H-S-H pickups.

Hmm.

Yeah, well -- those are the two that I'm not sure which it is.
Can somebody else help here?

Looks like it's added, it's not even in line or spacing with the Volumn and Tone. 770 has no pickguard.

The RG750 and RG550LTD were very similar guitars. Both were available in the black finish, both had pickguards, and both had the bound, sharktooth-inlayed neck.

The RG750 of course had the neckplate with a heel and the RG550LTD had the AANJ.

The RG550LTD also had a mirror pickguard and cosmo black hardware, while the RG750 had a black pickguard and, as far as I remember, came at one time or another with both black and cosmo black hardware.

The telltale here to me is that it's an RG750 as I can't really see the neck joint BUT...the bridge pickup seems to have IBZ/USA style writing on it which predates the RG550LTD which had V7/V8 humbuckers.

RG750

So, I believe it's now an RG750, but do you know if it ever came with the two tone controls or could it have been an aftermarket job?
I haven't received the guitar yet, so I don't know if it's been modded.

As far as I know the RG750 only ever came with the standard master tone and master volume so I think this one has been modified.
