And oh what a
beautiful guitar for nuthin'...
* ...nada...
* * *...nil...
...okay, so I traded an old 8-space rack case, a beater acoustic, a BBE 362 and an old
Rocktron Velocity 150 for it! *The Velocity's the only thing I might miss one day, but with a Mesa 20/20 and a Peavey 50/50 in the racks now, I can't see myself needing it any time soon...
...and the Saber is impecable!
mint! more mint than any guitar I've ever seen that's more than a few weeks old... This thing was NEVER played. No belt buckle marks, no wear on the frets or neck, the electronics are perfect! The cosmo black Edge has ZERO wear! The neck plate has ZERO wear! It's like it fell out of a time machine (okay, someone's closet)
The neck has tiny dot inlays and the pickups (IBZUSA 2 x C2, 1 x F2) are "battleship grey" instead of black. It has three mini switches instead of the split 5 switching, and the mini switch for the humbucker is a 3-way (off/single/hum). The knobs are the cool "Dan Dare" type found on the original RBMs and Maxxas. And the color - Ocean Blue (I think) - is unlike any finish I've ever seen before; it's more pale than it looks on the Blue Ibanez page, with a grey-pearlescent quality to it... Very nice :biggrin:
...and of course, it plays magnificently! It took me an hour to set it up (I think I'm the first to do it - the wrenches and bolts look untouched!) and WOW! Smooth as silk, and very toneful - especially when you consider that the body is so very tiny...
I'm really pleased with this find!
