There two different guitars in my opinion.
So you're saying it's fake? No chance. The middle pickup has been mounted the other way. It's an S1 single coil. The other pickups have been changed -- "DiMarzio ToneZone in the bridge and a DiMarzio Air Norton in the neck with a RG single in the middle." -- read the description. Also note the silver pole-pieces. They are totally different pickups.

LOL the wires are coming out the bottom of the pup the logo is on the top .Ok the pups might be change to an air norton and a tone zone but the cavitys are routered wrong that is not an Ibanez guitar .plus that paint job and Fret board change will cost at least $600 plus the pup change (Hello) and he is saying its a Ibanez Steve Vai JEM 77 . Not a chance !!!!!!!

Re: what RG is this?

No, he's not exactly saying it's a JEM. He says it's "JEMized".

Quote:
ONE of a KIND Ibanez neckthrough body JEMized, Swirled, inlaid + Lyon clawed by the famous Herc Fede
Anyone who knows anything about JEM's will KNOW it's not, there has NEVER been a neck-thru JEM. He used the words "Steve Vai" and "JEM" to attract people who might be interested to his auction.

The single coil cover is on the wrong way, that's all. Nothing wrong with the middle pickup. You're sounding like a total n00b. And what does the cost of the mods matter? It has 2 days to go and it's up to $875 already. What's your point?

Re: what RG is this?

His item description clearly states

Ibanez Steve Vai JEM 77 NECKTHROUGH Swirl Floral Inlays

My point was that it is not a genuine Ibanez, I`ve worked on enough Ibanez guitars to recognise a fake when I see one. I bought a Chibanez to see what it was like, and the cavity routing is similar to this one. Only PGM guitars have a space between the neck and the pick up ring. Just voicing my opinion, never meant to offend anybody here.

You're not offending anyone mate. Where did that thought come from? You are, however, looking like a n00b right about now! LOL. Sorry dude, you are completely wrong. Admit it. You got pwn3d.

Seriously, though. How do you not know the pickup cavities haven't been modified? That ain't no Chibanez.

Will someone back me up here or what? I am disappointed in you Jemsiters.

I'm on your side, it has all the signs of an original ibanez rg, such as the nut screw up that ibanez had for a year that i pointed out.
