What RG model is that?

Hi,

about 16 years back I bought myself an Ibi RG. Time went by and I actually forgot what model that is. Could any of you please help me finding that out?

It was made in Korea and:
PuPs: INF1&2 and INFS1,
Bridge: Ibanez Lo-Trs (and off topic ;-)although I have heard loads of bad opinions on it this one - although 16 yrs old - still causes no problems or whatsoever and never in fact did)
Color: Jewel Blue

I do not know how to say what neck it has so if you would give me an advice how to judge that I will post this info as well.

cheers,
Artur

Re: What RG model is that?

Sounds like a Rg470, does it have a pickguard?

Pictures would help identify your guitar....

Re: What RG model is that?

Thank you for your reply.

I thought it might be the 470 but on Ibanez wikia (I am not alowed to post links or photos) it says that rg 470 has the Lo-TRS II bridge unlike mine.

I does not have the pick guard.

cheers,
R2r

Re: What RG model is that?

it does look alike but, still Lo-trs and not lo-trs II as it is said to be when it comes to 470.

Re: What RG model is that?

Took me some time to get 10 posts but done ;-) Now I am able to post pictures/ links.

The one you posted looks almost like mine. First difference that I have noticed is the corners shape - it cant be seen too good on this pic because of the shades made by flash but it is not "rounded" at all.

This is mine:

Re: What RG model is that?

I think you have a standard '95 RG470 that a previous owner (smartly) changed the Lo-TRS II to the TRS you have now. It's an easy and effective upgrade.

I say this because the TRS is slightly bigger than the TRS II. Yours looks VERY tight in the cavity. The low E saddle would not be able to touch the front of the route on a TRS II. Also, note how the "wings" of your route match the contour of the TRS II in my pic.

Re: What RG model is that?

And here comes the most interesting part: I am the first and the only owner, it has never been modded. It was bought brand new straight from the authorised Ibanez dealer. This is why it makes me wonder, but I think I have one option left. That option is a question to the Ibanez support but I have no idea if they will care about that.

Re: What RG model is that?

There was probably something wrong with the LO-TRS II at QC stage, and it was replaced with what was available.

I've got a Japanese Wizard neck on my 95 MIK RG 470. Bought new. I attribute it to this.

Re: What RG model is that?

There must be something about it and actually you maybe right. I will have a go with Ibanez support- just to use all the possibilities. I do believe that it must be 470 cause there is hardly other options ...

How to say if the neck is Wizard or Wizard II ?
