Re: What RG model is this?

Looks like an RG570. Could be a 470 also I suppose. Do you know what trem is on it? I can't see it clearly enough but it may be a Lo Trs which points to it being a 470 maybe?

Re: What RG model is this?

Thanks, are there esthetic differences between rg 370,470 570,
I assume the previous owner(s) cleaned serial\model number.
Any other thoughts?
Thanks Again

Re: What RG model is this?

this goes for the first cipher of 570 (5)

1 - 2: indonesia. not double locking bridges.
3: korea, sometimes indonesia.low quality locking bridges. usually Infinity pickups.
4: korea. good quality locking bridges (trs), V or Infinity pickups.
5 or more: japan. excellent quality locking bridges (edge), V, DiMarzio/IBZ, IBZ/USA or DiMarzio pickups.

this goes for the second cipher of 570 (7)

1: 1 H w/ ring or direct mounted
2: H-H w/ ring or direct mounted
4: S-S-H on pickguard
5: H-S-H on pickguard
6: S-S-H w/ ring or direct mounted
7: H-S-H w/ ring or direct mounted

this goes for the third cipher of 570 (0)

0: tremolo bridge
1: fixed bridge
2: 12 strings
7: 7 strings (only on post 2003 models)

Re: What RG model is this?

Out of those 3 you mentioned the 570 is the one to own. Japanese made although some 470's were Jap made as well or at least assembled in Japan. Can you get a serial number from the seller? Ask him what trem is on it as well. If he's unsure find out if the Ibanez logo is stamped on the trem above the low E string saddle. Better pics would help. It may be a Jap made 470.

It's an RG270. Not made in Japan. --Jason

Re: What RG model is this?

570, no? that's the only one i know of that came in that wild ass green. except the 7620 that had that limited cayman green or whatever. but i'm pretty sure that's a 570. edge trem, right?

but wait... did the 570 ever come with a maple board?

Re: What RG model is this?

Thanks all for the GREAT info!!!!
If this is still available I will have a look Thursday.
But when I talked to the seller today he mentioned that the neck was "fixed"; it had a hairline crack. so i am reluctant since I have 2 RG's with a hairline crack on the back of the locking nut; not that it effect any play or stability.
I my gas cannot hold I will post pictures
But I am suspicous
THANKS
Cheers

Re: What RG model is this?

I concur that this is a 270. I'd maybe take one of if it were free. Other than that, it's worth nothing to me.
