What Trem Can I Upgrade To Without Modding My Guitar?

So I've got around to playing a few different guitars and am 90% set on getting a Ibanez RGT42DXFM. However I am just curious, since everyone seems to bash Edge Pro II trems, if I would be able to buy either a Lo-Pro Edge, Edge, or Edge Pro trem and replace the Edge Pro II with it, without having to drill any holes or do any major modding? Thanks!

All the trem you mention above except for edge pro won't fit you need to reroute it. I don't know bout the edge pro though

Re: What Trem Can I Upgrade To Without Modding My Guitar?

Well I havent bought it yet, though I have played it a couple of times. I havent really payed too much attention to how it sounds, more of how it feels because either way I was just going to replace the stock pups with Dimarzio's or even possibly EMG's depending on what I'm gonna use it for.

From what I hear the stock pickups are decent but to get the guitar really sounding good you have to replace them. I'm gonna swing by Sam Ash a little later on and fiddle with it. I'll let you know how they sound.

I'm open to those as well but I left them out because for some reason I remember hearing that they wouldnt work either, could be wrong though.

Anyone care to chime in?

I don't know of anything off-hand where you're not going to have to do some routing.

Bummer. How much do you think (estimate) it would be to have someone route it?

^considering the bother of finding someone to do it, etc., and the fact that it's a korean guitar, and probably doesn't have the best quality control etc., it's probably a better bet to just save for a 1570...

Arent the older RGT42 models MIJ?

I checked out the 1570, although it has a better trem, a lot of the other features arent really what I'm looking for. Thanks for the recommendation though.
