Whatever happened to Floyd Rose's "new" trem syste

The one with the precut strings and "no tuning necessary". Did that ever come to fruition, or was it logistically too much of a pain to churn out string packs for altered tunings?

It exists, check out floydrose.com it's called the speedloader. Double "bullet" ended strings.
I think they can just about handle drop D,
