What's my 550MR worth?

I picked up this 550 Metallic Rose (correct??) off the bay about a year a go, give or take. It came in a new Ibanez Jem hard case and wasn't extremely pricey either given the condition. Since then I had all new wiring, pots, switch and jack (left the PUPS alone) put in it and a pro-set up. I've also replaced the decal that was half worn with an Ibanez Jem decal. I've been throwing around the idea of selling it for a little while but i'm worried that the re-issue of the 550 in RFR and DY might lower re-sell value. So...about how much is she worth with a case in like new condition?

I've pictured all the major dings.

If I sold it though, I would at least have to make back what i've put into it with in reason and there's about under 850.00$ total into it with initial cost, wiring, pots, switch and jack with a set-up.

First of all, there are strict rules on the site about selling guitars, and if that's what you're trying to do, you should put it in the classifieds. Secondly, older RG550s in player condition have been selling for around $400-600 on the auction site, (just do a completed listings search) so there is no way you are going to get $850 for it.

I know the rules about selling guitars and in no way am i attempting to sell the guitar in this post. I'm simply trying to see what the value of the guitar with the case is for future reference.

That's the pain with this stuff. There's more in it than it's worth right now...

Dude that's the problem with half my collection. You'll never get what you put into it. You either take a loss or keep it.

I've noticed that RG550s have gone up in Australia since the reissues. Where once you could get about $500-$600 for one, I'm seeing them change hands for $1,200 or more.

I got my original 1987 for $250 four years ago.

Ha, cars are worse than guitars when it comes to custom resales! I was surprised to read about the floral pattern, though, my impression was that those are well-regarded and coveted guitars that keep their value.

I'm sure they keep they're value if they're original. I ran across an FP in a pawnshop that had been mutilated and restored it. I probably couldn't get what they go for or even what i have in it. I guess it will be mine forever
