where to find info on SN's if stolen?

I'm looking at purchasing a RG 770 off **** but wanted to make sure it wasn't stolen and the deal was legit.

Is there a site or forum somewhere to check this info?

I was the person who asked about that serial number in the questions section. There's nothing wrong with that guitar, as far as I can tell. It's a beauty. The reason I asked was because I thought there was supposed to be a serial on the back of the headstock, regardless of the serial on the neck plate. I think the guy is 100% trustworthy, though.

It's got EMG's 81/SA/85 and it looks like it's complete with case, trem arm and is in great shape. I talked him down to $700 shipped. Think that's too much?

oh. Ha ha. yeah I posted over there. I've been going back and forth with him since it ended. Seems $450-$500 is a good deal. I'll see what he says.
