Which Duncan pickups for my SZ520?

I have an Ibanez SZ520 that I am looking into replacing the pickups. I have a JB model, but it is a bit to bright and saturated for me. I also tried a Jazz in the neck but this was also too bright for me, I prefer something more creamier for the neck. Which would sound better for the neck, a '59 or Alnico II pro? I liked the sound of the Alnico II in another guitar but I noticed on the site that it is recommended for brighter guitars. Also any advice on a bridge model would be great!

seems like you want a more tamed down axe. i'd go with dual 59's in your place. i have the alnico 2 and a jb in mine and i love them.

For Duncans, I really like the Distortion, Custom 5, and the Custom Custom. The Distortion is probably not your thing, and the Custom 5 sounds like it has a little more depth than the JB (to my ears). '59 is a good call for a neck pickup.

i have jb/jazz on my sz520.. cant complain. its suited my likes..

try diff. brands.. you might find something you like.. dont stick with one brand

For the bridge try a DiMarzio Norton. I have one in my SZ and I love it.

Post Resurrection!

I have been using Pearly Gates for years love them in my SZ520... I will be trying a Norton and Air Norton myself tomorrow... ;-) Just to check them out and compare.
