In my view, Ibanez is getting further and further away from the core "S" line. Calling the SZ an evolution of the S is really misleading, because it has almost nothing in common with the original Saber design, except for the body's silhouette outline.
The SZ and SA are different beasts. The SZ is a set neck, 25.1" scale, thick-bodied fixed-bridge guitar, whereas the SA is thinner, bolt-on, 25.5" scale with a trem.
It all depends on what you're looking for. Oh, also, on the SA, the quited maple is nothing more than a paper-thin veneer. Dunno how thick it is on the SZ.
