Who owns trademark to AANJ?

I was browsing thru some sites when I found this page:

http://www.**************.com/tech/betterstrat.htm

If you scroll down you'll find a sentence where this guy says that he owns the trademark to his AANJ.

How come I've always tought that Ibanez has these trademarks and patents?

EDIT: And check this out too:
http://www.**************.com/guitar...better_iba.htm

How does this guy think he is?

I don't think anyone really has a copy right on them...Peavey has their own style of AANJ (at least on the Wolfgang) and nobody is complaining.

And if you're new to him, know that Ed Roman isn't likely to care about patents, or truth. No need to start another Ed-thread here...just do a search on here, and many instances of the general feel for Mr.Roman will come up...lol

In truth, JEMAvenger is correct...many of the companies today have AANJ's of some kind. Fernandez has one for their signatures, and even the pointy world of B.C.Rich has something like it now for their bolt-ons. The Ibanez seems most comfy though...

Ed does own the Brooklyn Bridge though, and every now and then he'll find a buyer

I'm fairly sure that Ibanez owns the rights to the term "All-access Neck Joint", but...the design is obviously fair game. Just about every bolt-on guitar manufacturer has their own version, but they all look slightly different.

I've never heard about him and I guess now I even don't want to...

If my understanding of the way the patent is written (I haven't read it, but it's been described to me) the only thing you really need to do is alter the shape of the round off, and the positions of the bolts and you're not in violation of the patent.

It is also my understanding (again, I haven't read it) Ibanez does own the copyright to the term "AANJ", but Gibson also owned the copyright to the term "Humbucking pickup" but that didn't stop everyone from using it.

I have this old Hosono Guitars catalog, from 1993 or 94. They used to do parts like Warmoth. I don't think they exsist anymore(I've tried). But they had an option for an "All Access Neck Joint". The double neck body they had came with it automatically, because the diagram for it looks just like two Ibanez AANJ's. I thought I read around here they had some connection to Ibanez??

I believe you're reffering to Hoshino, and yes, they do have a connection . . . they own Ibanez.
