Wow, that's alot of switches. What could you possible do with 4 switches and 5 knobs.

4 switches
1 for bridge coil tap
1 for neck coil tap
1 for series parallel
1 for normal 3 way switching

the knobs on the other hand I have not freaking clue unless it had some sort of active ciruitry

thats some serious looking guitars!

the knobs i assume are individual tone and volume knobs, but I have no idea what the fifth does.

And you'd be dead right in your guess - as far as I can recall (yep, I'm old enough to have been around when they came out new!) they had individual volume controls for each pickup (the gold knobs) and bass, midrange and treble controls - the switching I suspect was coil taps and active/passive, but heck, it was a LONG time ago!

You could buy those damn things for less than peanuts a few years ago.
