Why no Tele style Ibanez??

Same thing but uglier. I got this off of evilbay then happened to buy a 540P body from the original owner - which was really weird since I had JUST bought this guitar and the seller had some kind of story how the original owner supposedly died in a car crash. Anyway, the real original onwer (he sent me pics of him playing it back in the day) worked at the Bensalem plant and got the parts and did everything himself. The inlays aren't really perfect and the paint could be a little better, but it's not too bad - it looks really cool from a distance.

Kramer used to make a tele-style Pacer, don't think it was ever popular. Perhaps that's why Ibanez don't make one.

why would I be thinking of the talman.

I never said you were.

IMHO, the Talman was aimed at the Tele audience (lipstick pickups, quirky body style, etc.)

It was called the Roadstar 580B "Ballback" - maybe that means something else in Japanese...

The ernie ball musicman axis body feels quite a bit like a tele although the guitar is rather different other than that similarity. Imo tele's should have only had maple necks though so that makes the whole thing that much more authentic.

That Ibanez body is okay. But the best description I've heard of the Fender Telecaster is that it looks like a highschool kids school Wood Shop project! I heard that on this site somewhere! Funny as hell. I always hated the look of that guitar.
