Wizard II neck profile vs fretboard thickness?

Hi,

I have a '97 RG505 and a '98 RG548. Both have the wizard II neck, but the neck on the RG548 feels altogether chunkier and fatter than the 505. They are supposed to be the same.

On close inspection the neck profiles seem the same, and it wasn't until I looked really hard did I notice that there is a slight difference in the fretboard thickness, the 548 fretboard is around 0.5-1mm thicker.

Has anyone else noticed this with 2 supposedly identical necks? Do Ibanez make these neck thicknesses to a tolerance along with most other parts?

I believe it is the shape of the neck that is difference. It wont be accurate from the eye without proper measurements. My Japan wizard II feels significant thinner from the Korean wizard II, but measuring with the vernier caliper, both are 19mm at the first fret and 21mm at the 12th.
