Won an Ibanez rg570

Just won an Ibanez RG570... Comes with seymour duncan Secreamin deamon in bridge, stock single in the middle, Seyour duncan jazz style (he didn't know exact model) in neck. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=33043
The story goes:
At first i needed a guitar to bring back and forth to school for jazz band. My explorer is WAY too big to bring on the bus in its huge hardshell case. So I was going to get a not very expensive guitar, but then I saw this and it was at $250 originally. That isn't a whole lot so I decided I'd get that because its a good guitar and has SD pickups, etc. So I had to go to school today and my dad was going to bid on it for me when he got to work (it was over before i got home) and I didn't think he'd go to $345 but he got competitive aganist another bidder lol.. so yeah i'm pretty exicted.

By the way... any way of telling what Seymour Duncan model the neck pickup is when it arrives?

Thanks!

I thought you were talking about a competition for a minute there. That would have been really cool.

That looks exactly the same as mine (original Edge bridge and everything). I popped the neck off it last week to find out it was an RG370, but Japanese (I posted a thread about it elsewhere). Maybe you might want to take the neck off to see what you're really getting (it's stamped inside the neck pocket). Not that it matters, they're kickass guitars.

Yeah if I remember from your thread it said to look at the jack.. if it is a round one then it'll be the 570. I don't think you could tell the model from just the pics... all the bodies are pretty much the shame shape. Am I wrong? I can also just check the serial number too i suspect....

Maybe... all the others were around $300 but came with stock pickups... this come with duncans which they run about 70 a piece if bought new.

By the way i'll find out soon enough but anyone know what I should expect from the Screamin deamon in an rg570?

All a serial number can tell you is what year the guitar was made. I guess the only way to tell is to look at the jack, or the neck joint. I don't think Ibanez has used original Edges on RG570s for a decade now.

What is the original edge? It might be a low pro... i cant tell though. I'll see when it gets here but i bet it as an rg570..

anyone else with some insight?

The guitar in the pic also appears to have the old style heel neck joint like mine (you can tell by where on the neck the top horn meets the body: around the 17th fret on the old style, and the 19th on AANJ). But that may just be the angle of the photo.

Whats the "original" edge trem? And would that mean it isn't a 570?

Older 570's have the heel too... could it be an older rg570 with the old style neck heel and an "original" edge trem?

It could be an older version. According to the catalogues, they stopped using the original Edge and switched to Lo Pro after 1991.

From looking at the edge's here http://www.jemsite.com/axes/htm_features/trems.htm it does look like the Edge and not the lo-pro. I don't think most rg3XX had the edge or were made in japan. I dont know I am confused any other help?

I guess all you can do is wait for the guitar to show up. Don't worry though, Korean guitars never came with an Edge trem, so whatever it is, it's gunna be Japanese and by definition it will kick ass! My guitar was sold as an RG570 and it took me a decade to find out what it really was but that doesn't change the fact that it's one of the best and most versatile guitars I've ever played.
