Wow...

E-bay item:

320187525731

"Mild relic done by me to body and headstock only...I think the headstock looks much better natural, showing off the beautiful woods they use in these Prestige necks."

And he's trying to sell it for $700!

Re: Wow...

Hahaha thats a little funny actually. A relic of a reissue. Didn't take long, did it? Hahahaha. And by relic, I mean "relic", cause I don't know if you can call it that - it's pretty terrible. Sorry if the person who did it is a member of this forum.

Re: Wow...

I don't get it. Why wouldn't you just get an old 550 if you wanted to do a relic.

Re: Wow...

That's funny! I bet this copped a decent ding, and after being upset decided that it wasn't going to be worth as much so went all out with the "relicing", and now has decided to see if some sucker will pay good money for it!

Re: Wow...

what an idiot...to deface a perfectly good guitar. People should quit screwing around with finishes when they have no idea what they are doing...

Especially Road Flare Red finishes. It's almost enough to make me weep! RIP, RG 20th. See you on the other side, brother.

Re: Wow...

Only one thing would redeem that guitar looks-wise: paint it that killer LNG like that photoshopped image. I'm still salivating over the thought of a LNG 20th!
If I had the scheckles I might buy it...or add $200 and get a new one in black.

Re: Wow...

Heinous......I have a pretty high threshold when it comes to modifications,
but this? I kinda agree with Lonephantom, some kind of mishap must have
made him think this was the way to go.

Yeah, I thought we'd have seen some LNG 20th's by now. A few people said they were gonna get a black one and give it the treatment but it hasn't happened yet.

A quote by funkdubious from the other thread:

It still works,what's the problem?
The headstock sanding is abit crap though.
Actually I think everyone should bash up their 'collector' guitars. Those things,as nice as they make me sick
I'm interested to know why they make you sick? I don't agree with bashing up any guitar, it's disrespectful to people who are not lucky enough to afford them. I do think they should be used, but taken good care of. That goes for any instrument, regardless of collectibility unless maybe if it's a one-off or ultra stupidly rare.
