Wzard neck on an RG321 body

Will a Wizard neck from an RG570 fit on an RG321 body without any mods? Just curious, I'm thinking of taking on a project. Also, would a standard fixed Strat-style bridge fit on the RG321 body?

Thanks,

Chuck

The 570 neck may be a bit thinner (width), but is should bolt up fine provided they have the same neck joint style (AANJ)

So, the Wizard isn't a direct replacement for the Wizard II???

Was the neck that you used an AANJ?

There may be a problem with the location of the screw holes. Any decent luthier could dowel and re-drill as needed.

Well, I just took the neck off of my favorite guitar, an RG570, and tried putting it on the 321 and that is the problem-the location of the the screw holes. The neck fits in the pocket just fine. I'm wondering if I do dowel and redrill-will the scale length be off and cause an intonation problem? FWIW the neck looks great on the body, it's one of the flame top, redburst ones. I really want a hardtail RG with a Wizard neck.

Just drill new holes and dowel the old ones.

You will not have any scale problems, because both guitars are the same scale.

Good point. I was just thinking that the neck pocket seems to go further into the body on the 570 versus the 321.

Just measure from the bridge to the 12th fret and to the nut.

The Wizard II was from a tremolo-equipped guitar so it was a bit thinner (width) and a considerable space of the joint was left over from the left side.
