If that's the case, then the answer to the question:

Ah Ok, I was sure it said Korea on the one I played. Might not have though.
That is pretty poor though charging so much for an inferior guitar.

Re: XPT 700
Why on earth would Ibanez think that Chinese, Korean and Indonesian quality could rival Japanese quality when even American quality is keeping up?

Just a "fun" guitar
Definitely show us some pics when you get it, and give us your opinions. It will be good to hear a detailed review and some decent pics on this one finally. As you say, even as just a "fun" guitar, it's still pretty damn cool!

Because theier target market is young teens who have no idea of whats a good guitar, and have nvr had a chace to play one and they just thinks their big superstarts plays an ibanez so it must be good, .. Only to find out years later that they just brought a piece of crap

Re: XPT 700
Hey, I'm a young teen and I think I know a good guitar guitar when I see one.
It was a sarcastic question, really. If Ibanez could think that imports are as good as MIJ then the suits might as well shoot out their brains.

Re: XPT 700
I played an MII V Blade. I checked out the fret work and construction. It didn't seem too bad. It did need a setup, badly. Maybe this one just wasn't a lemon. From what i hear about MII QC, the other V Blade on the wall could have been completely wretched.

Well, it's not just US, ya know. When little Johnny wants his first guitar and they head down to the local GC or
Sam Ash
, the parents aren't gonna look behind the counter at all the Prestiges. They're gonna go to the low to midrange guitars and not even know where the guitar is made or how well it's made. I guess enough of them are selling that it warrants them having to move some manufacturing to Indonesia for the cheapy axes.

i actually saw a kid looking throught the windows of a 2nd hand store and try to get hsi dad to buy him a Chibanez Jem for $2000au thinking its a real one..and is 2nd handed...i told the kid not to buy it cause its fake and they question me back of how to i know and blah blah blah...i jsut said i've play real ibanez for years and if u dont believe me, go buy it and take it to an
ibanez dealer
...2weeks later walking pst the store, that things gone..a $100au worth of guitar sold for 20times the price..it makes me think ibanez are doing the chibanez way
