Here's my very first Ibanez (awwww...). First 'proper' guitar I ever had, I've owned it for nearly 4 years; it really has had the hell played out of it!
It's an S270 body and neck, with and Evo and Breed put in by the previous owner, along with an Edge Lo-Pro. The wiring was also customised to select the two inner singles of the HBs when in middle position. The neck had also been lightly fully scalloped. It was very poorly refinished in bright red from its original blue finish.
Since I've had it, the finish has worn down in lots of places. When bored, I've ahem, 'accentuated' this wear in some places for a sort of half-ar$ed 'relic' look thats mostly real from gigging, playing, etc. I've also used its poor state as an excuse to doodle all over it

, which I llike the look of! I painted "Led Zeppelin" on the front as well as "Zoso", Page's symbol from Zep IV, which I think looks better carved out of the first layer of paint to give it some depth. Note the "groupie-be-gone" sticker stuck on by my girlfriend

!!!
On the back of the guitar, I've doodled some more and engraved my signature into it, along with a "Vai" symbol in the control plate. Below the red paint, there's yellow, blue and white layers so the wear on the front and back looks great with all the colours showing through! Oh, and there's some silver enamel paint I decided to try out on the back for the Led Zep job on the front.
I also took out the crummy stock pickup from the middle.
Surprisingly enough, I love this guitar. The sound is honestly phenomenal; the Evolution in the bridge gives an incredible sound through my ENGL. Sentimental finish here too!!!
