Your opinions on pups for an RG570?

Hi, I have finally gotten my first ever Ibanez! It is a 2001 RG570. I want to upgrade the stock pickups right away. I have Dimarzio pups on some of my other rigs and would like to stay with those. Here is my first guess at a pup selection for the RG.
Neck: Air Zone DP192 (enjoy the occasional fat, Jazz clean tone)
Mid: FS-1 DP110 (used to have a strat, liked the middle pu, but it was often too bright and thin)
Bridge: EVO2 Bridge DP215 (i have a dimarzio super distortion in the bridge on one of my home-made guitars, I like it but sometimes it gets a little bit garbled sounding in the low notes)
I realize this stuff is personal taste, but has anyone had any really bad or really good experiences with any of these combinations? Is there any obvious bad mistake in these choices?
Thanks guys!! This message board is the best... Barry

I personally wouldn't put the Air Zone in the neck simply because it wouldn't sound like I personally would want a neck pickup to sound. I would suggest an Air Norton or a PAF Joe for the neck. Also, the EVO2 is a fine bridge pickup but you might also want to look into the Steve's Special or that new Dimarzio Mo Joe pickup when it finally comes out.

Re: Your opinions on pups for an RG570?

Thanks Lyconxero,
I just spent a bunch more time at the Dimarzio site. It looks like I will go with the Air Norton, instead of the Air Zone for the neck. And for the mid. I'll go back to my first choice which was the Blue Velvet Neck. I'll stay with the Evo2 for the bridge.
(BTW, I see that the Mo' Joe is out now. But somehow I couldn't get interested... the writeup mentioned Joe using heavier gauge strings with this one...).
Thanks for your suggestions.

FS1 in the middle is an uncommon, incredible choice. That's what Shawn Lane used in the middle position. The EVO 2 would be awesome in the bridge, but the air zone will get too thick in the neck. I recommend a breed neck in the neck.

The FS1 will combine really well with the split neck and bridge pickups for those strat 2 and 4 sounds.

I've got an Air Norton in the neck and a PAF Pro in the bridge on mine currently, however as of this week they're coming out when my Evolutions arrive. The Norton and Pro worked just fine, the only problem I ran into is that I got to used to playing my jem with the Evo's.

I'm beginning to see that this will probably be an ongoing search for the right combination... Thanks for all of your input and the encouragment to just go ahead and try different pickups... I've been playing for about 25 years so I'm no stranger to swapping out pickups.
Thanks guys.

Air Norton neck and Tone Zone bridge , can't really beat that.

Re: Your opinions on pups for an RG570?

I have a newer Rg1570 that I put an an Evo(bridge) and a Humbucker From Hell(neck) and I think these sound great.

I like the way the Evo picks up harmonics. Sometimes depending on my mood it can sound a little harsh, but I just roll back the tone knob a little and I'm happy.

The HFH in the neck position is a beautiful thing. I can only describe it as full and alive. Perfect for those clean parts.

BTW, I think you need a reverse wound reverse polarity single coil for the middle pickup if you use position 2 & 4 on the selector.
