I've got one, a GRX40CA (1997) and it's a really cool guitar. The powersounds sound cool and are indeed powerfull but I guess I will change the p'ups one day too. I was thinking of DiMarzio or

Never heard that Yamaha actually makes the Gio's. If so, than it's pretty weird that the cheap Pacifica sucks and the GRX doesn't. A good friend of mine has the Pacifica and uses it only for guitarlessons so he doesn't have to drag his case along with his heavy
Charvel Model 4 in it. His Pacifica really sounds terrible!!! There's no sustain and it sounds so empty, toneless! While the GRX I own sounds incredible, has a nice sustain and warm tone (except for on the neck pickup). The Pacifica has a better nut though. If you use the trem a lot it won't detune, while on my axe it does...
