Your signature guitar!
Let's start a fun little topic. If you could have your own Ibanez sig. guitar, what would it be like? Wood? Body style? Finish? Pups? Neck?
My guitar:
Body
-Artist style body (original thickness)
-Mahogany body w/ Flamed Maple Top
Neck
-Mahogany neck (Wizard)
-neck-thru design
-
Rosewood fretboard
-No inlays (only side dots)
Hardware
-Pickups: Duncan JB in the bridge, Duncan Jazz in the neck
-Wilkinson Tremolo with Piezo (black chrome)
-Controls: Volume knob, Tone knob, Piezo Volume knob (black chrome)
-3-way switch (selects JB only, Jazz only, or coil split in the middle position)
-3-way switch which selects magnetic pups, piezo, or both blended
Headstock
-
Sperzel locking tuners
-6:0 Headstock (found on RG's etc, not the 3:3 the Artist normally has)
-matching the color of the body, my signature in white
-Natural Mahogany Gloss finish
Well, that's about it. Post people!

25.1" scale, neck-thru. Gibraltar Custom bridge with thru-body stringing (same as the MMM1), or a Wilkinson style trem option.
Bound ebony fretboard on a maple neck, 3-a-side
locking tuners
. Dunno about the pickups; maybe a Jazz/Custom 5 combo? Interesting pickup switching:
neck series
neck parallel
inner coils
outer coils
bridge series
And it'd look a bit like this. A bit. With probably an SZ style headstock, and that flip-flop blue/green paint.

Body :
-a combination between s-series and jem body . A jem body but a little bit rounder in the edges (no idea how it would look , but i think they have so sharp edges :P)
- body in koa or alder
- chrome finish (like the jem prototype) with engravements some places (kinda like the 10th but not just like it)
p-ups :
- bridge : steves special or breed.
- neck : dont know
- possible single coil : strat type :P hehe
neck :
The very same neck as on my wolfgang guitar. But maybe with a rosewood board to match the body. No inlays. Headstock like a jem , with my logo in black on top of the chrome.
jem
tremolo system
.
and a whammy controller just like on Bellamy´s guitar.
guess thats it .. maybe a little bit flashy
what do i know

Hmm. I'd have to start with my fave guitar, my 520QS. What would I change... I guess I'd put an ebony fretboard on it, with some cool inlays, maybe big
block inlays
like some Les Pauls I've seen, and maybe a lighter finish that shows off the wood a bit better (mine is very dark blue) and matching headstock. Other than that, I'm not sure how I could improve the guitar, it's damn near perfect already, I think I'd even keep the stock pickups. Maybe a ZR trem, I'm not sure, I was playing with one of those in the store and it
was
pretty cool, but I'm not sure if I'm sold on them yet, and I know and love the good old edge. Man, my
signature guitar
is kind of boring, huh?

If I could have a signature Ibanez guitar I'd pass. Rick Turner already makes my ideal guitar, but it's got some guy name Lindsey Buckingham's name attached to it already.

Jem7VSBL with ZR trem and coil splits and phase switches. Oh yea, and a pearloid scratchplate.
*sigh*
I might have a JEM someday.... (go on Rich, a bit of charity is good for you!)

I would probably go with something like a 7 string Wolfgang.
Body:
wolfgang style body - Basswood w/ Maple carved top
Neck:
Graphite reinforced maple neck
Birdseye
maple fretboard
26 inch scale length
22 large or tall and thin(6105?)
stainless steel frets
Custom vine or black dot inlays
Locking tuners
Bridge:
Non-reccesed Edge7 bridge w/ 2 d-tuners, one on the low B and
one on the low E
Electronics:
Pickups:
Either H/H or H/S/H
Tone Zone7 in the bridge and Air Norton7 in the neck with something
like a reverse wired 7 string blue velvet in the middle if there was one.
Controls:
Master tone control, Master voulme control.
One of them would be either push/pull series/parallel(with H/S/H) or coil
split(with H/H)
the other would be push/pull hi-pass filter
Either:
H/H w/ 3-way pickup selector (Neck/Neck+Bridge/Bridge)
H/S/H w/ 5-way selector
(Neck/Neck+Middle/Neck+Bridge/Bridge+Middle/Bridge)
I would like it in either trans red, blue or dark cherry burst
It would also come fitted with strap locks
