Cool

1991 Peavey G-Ninety

So I haven't had a guitar for a while and the day after Christmas I decided to search for one. At my local Guitar Center they had a 1991 Peavey G-Ninety, handmade in the USA, for $149.99. I think I got a pretty good deal and the guitar feels great, though it needs to be set up better than I can do. I called Peavey and they no longer have the bars for this tremolo in stock so if anyone knows where I can get a trem bar for a Peavey licensed Floyd from 1991 please point me in the right direction. Here's a few pics: (Sorry for the bad quality/flash.)

Maybe a standard bar might fit idk, seems pretty sweet especially for 150 bucks
Btw is that a coil tap or kill switch? I'm use to people liking their killswitches there and coil taps usually closer to the pup selector or up higher

Yeah I was thinking that too, I might try that.
It's a coil tap. I don't know if it's stock or not. It looks like it is though.

Looks like the fretboard is dry. I'd put some linseed oil or lemon oil on it.

Pretty sweet though!

I had the same guitar back in 92 or so, it was a good one...I really liked it.
It is the same trem as any of the old Peavy's a Kahler Spyder if I remember correct.

You can use any of the three. I prefer linseed oil.

Re: 1991 Peavey G-Ninety

i was just thinkin about one of those a couple of days ago. when i was learning how to play on a crusty old acoustic, my cousin brought over a brand new G90 to show it off. (that was actually around '91 because i was 15 at the time....anyways, that was the first real electric that i ever played with. i remember thinkin how cool it looked and how wide and flat the neck was compared with my old acoustic. his was the one with the "crackly chameleon" paint job....ahh memories....

good find for 150. just needs a cleaning and a setup. wtg.

Re: 1991 Peavey G-Ninety

I'm thinking about replacing the pickups and such.
Anyone know any colors combos that might look cool on it?

Idk what color combos would look good, it is such an odd color that you almost need like some bareknuckle looking metal pickups but with the same color hue haha

Re: 1991 Peavey G-Ninety

That could be cool..

I was thinking maybe some purple/black DiMarzios.. I will have to mock up the mirror ones though. That sounds pretty cool.
