Re: #20
I tried really hard to like the Gretsches I've played, but none of them ever suited me (personally). It sure is great looking though! Play her in health

Re: #20
Thanks!
jimm777,would you compare the playability of the
double cutaway
hollow Gretsches(DC Falcon;Nashville;Country Gent) and the Gibson ES335.I need a 335-style guitar too,but I have not much experience with hollows.

Re: #20
The 335's are only semi-hollow, not fully hollow like the Country Gents or your beautiful Silver Falcon. The 335 won't feed back as much as a full hollow because of the solid center strip. I really like 335 style guitars myself, and will likely pick one up used (and more than likely Japanese as well) in the next week or so. I would have to think that the playability on your Gretsch should be amazing when it is setup. The Epi Dot you traded for this was a 335, right?

Re: #20
Yes,Epi The Dot was a 335 copy. And I want to have the same style 'semi-hollow' guitar.Probably I will buy a Gibson, but before taking the final decision I will try to learn more about other good 335's by f.e. Heritage;Guild;USA Epi...(not only manufacturer's specs and reviews).

There are a lot of great Japanese 335's available. Ibanez AS models are great, especially the 180's and 200's, and Yamaha SA models as well, 2000, 2100, and 2200. Burny, Greco, Tokai, and Orville also make great 335's, with the Burny, Greco and Orville guitars being made in the Ibanez Fuji-Gen Gakki factory in Japan. That's what I'm currently looking for, a Japanese 335 or a Heritage 535/555.
Hofner makes a nice semi called the Verithin as well.
