24 fret regular trem
Hey all, I've got a question. I'm thinking of gettin rid of one of my guitars and gettin something else for it. I'm looking for a 24 fret with a simple tremolo (bend down only). To my surprise, there aren't so many guitars that offer this mix from what i've seen. So far I found a couple of musicman guitars. I've seen an amazing
brian moore
but it looks like it was just 22 frets, and probably doesn't have a 24 fret option. Any suggestions?

What's your budget?
One option would be Carvin. They have 24-
fret guitars
with Wilkinson trems.

Re: 24 fret regular trem
Funny you are the first to answer my question Darren. You are the guy everyone comes to about
Parker guitars
right? The guitar i'm actually considering getting rid of is my fly deluxe 1998. The sound of this thing is great, there's just a few annoyances I can't get past. Maybe you can convince me not to do it hehe. Anyway so I guess my budget would be what I can get for the fly (if i do go through selling it) plus a couple of hundred bucks I would add. Thanks.

Re: 24 fret regular trem
I was going to suggest Carvin also, they seem reasonably priced and are the only thing that comes to mind with 24 frets and a standard trem. Plus you can customize it all you want and I think they are set necks.

Re: 24 fret regular trem
Creeky creek sounds coming from the nut and bridge, first string breaking at the bridge constantly, first string slipping off the neck, sometimes getting stuck under the
neck pickups
. And I also noticed the neck on the fly is so fast and easy to play that when I switch to my strat or rg I sound sloppy until I get used to the neck again. I have a feeling you are going to come up with a way for me to fix all these things and make me feel stupid I didn't think of this earlier.

Re: 24 fret regular trem
I don't have all the answers, but there is a forum over at the Parker site where people might be able to offer suggestions.
Getting rid of a guitar because it's too fast and easy to play? That's a first!

Re: 24 fret regular trem
Hehe yep I'm trying to cut down on the speed noodling and the Parker does not help the situation one bit! I heard someone on their forum puts scotch tape at the end of the high E string to keep it from popping at the bridge, interesting. But anyway back to the original topic, thanks for the suggestions people. Carvin had a couple of nice guitars, but I've never seen or played one. What's their quality/reputation?

Ibanez RT?
Youll get used to it quickly if you have a strat and an RG...
Theyre cheap too, so you probably wont have to get rid of the Fly just yet...

Re: 24 fret regular trem
Wow i didn't even know fender had a 24
fret guitar
. I was looking for that too. That one is very nice. It's kinda strange seeing a guitar with that type of look have fender on the headstock, it just seems wrong. I'm gonna try to fix these few things on the Fly before I figure out what to do. I always wondered where I could find these options anyway, so thanks for the responses everyone.

Re: 24 fret regular trem
Well the fender honest to god is very charvel like, although i dont really know how long that particular bodys been around. their are some older
custom shop
showmasters that are just INSANELY high quality instruments, but these are few and far between. My complaint with the
parker fly
? The guitar is too lite it would take some getting used to, but tonally and playability wise i have NO complaints about them and you should just get your setup properly, sounds like some basic setup issues with you like maybe a nut refile/recut, filing of the saddle so it doesnt snap etc.
