5-way selctor on a Prestige RG

can anyone explain to me what the second position does?

Position 1= humbucker is in series.
Position 2= humbucker is in parallel.

(Ya know what's truly sad? *That I didn't even have to look at the pic to answer this. *I need help. *LOL)

serial is hotter output in simple terms and is the default standard.

when doing a custom wiring job (ie... above and beyond ibanez)... this kind of wiring option IMHO is better suited with a toggle switch (throw in a coil tap toggle too), since it could then be applied to both humbuckers and free the 5-way for other needs
