Acoustic/Classical Guitars

Hey guys, I have been messing around on guitar for around four years and I realized today that I literally haven't owned an acoustic since when I was 8 and wanting to learn guitar and I used my dad's cheap yamaha to fool around on every now and then.

Nowadays my dad has Taylors and I only have electric guitars.

I wanted to ask you knowledgeable guitarists what would be some good choices if I wanted to start picking up acoustic again or even maybe starting classical guitar. I know yamaha's usually are good even at cheap prices so maybe I can go for a classical and acoustic guitar!

Post some ideas, also I am thinking about getting into finger styles sorta like the recently posted about Justin King.

Norman acoustics are fantastic for not very much money. I was very impressed with their 6 string folk model when I tried it.

If you google them you'll find them, I'm not sure on distribution though. My only experience was with Jonny roadhouse in manchester uk

I'll check out Norman's, I like how many of their models also come with cutaway versions

Also what about Ibanez? I heard once I think that they just don't have a good acoustic tone. I played one once but I really can't remember its sound right now.

Well i know alittle bit about classicals,

Le Patrie is a french canadian company that makes some really cool stuff in any price range. I never owned one but I know people who love them.

Crafter is a flat top bluegrass guitar company mostly. But they do make a few classical guitars in the 300 range that are exceptional IMO.

Cordoba is a very famous classical guitar maker. Cordoba is named for a town in Spain that produced guitars played by some of the greatest classical guitarists. Now they are made in Korea(i think) and in Spain. They are pretty cool but now mass produced. I would definatly not order one of these but if you can find one and try it then maybe. Some are EXCELLENT some, eh. Go for the Spanish ones they start at 300 and go to 10000.

Yamaha is a poor instrument maker. Unless it is wood wind or classical guitars. I hate their electrics and acoustics but the classicals are pretty cool. They have one for around 700 that has a condensor mic inside it which allows you to amplify wierd slaps in stuff (if your into that).

I came to like Crafter's since that one GGuerra guy plays them and they have to be pretty good quality since he is endorsed by them and doesn't play his Jem anymore haha.

I will really look into their Classical guitars, also I like most of yamaha's quality, except when it is like a made in korea one, their japanese made things are best.
But I am sorta Yamaha biased since I know Yamaha keyboards and Pianos are some of the best made since my dad has been an associate of Yamaha in their Piano division. I do agree with you though, most of their acoustics and electrics arent the best since most are korean. However I do like their basses usually, as long as it is a higher end model.

I will also look into Le Patrie, if it is hard to get down to florida I'll make my friend in Canada bring one down next time he visits haha
