Advice on getting a second guitar
Hello good people. The thing is I dont really feel comfortable bringing my Prestige to rehearsals when we finish very late at night because I'm afraid it might get stolen.. And I also want a second guitar for alternate tunings (thus I'd prefer it
string through
) and to play rocksmith without having to retune the floyd! Haha, that game rocks man!
Anyway, I'm almost sure I want a
Schecter
. I want to give them a chance. My friend owns a 7 string Schecter and he loves it. And the price on them seem to be right for what you get.
But I need advice.. because like always, I start looking at the cheaper ones but the most expensive ones man.. they call me like sirens and I dont want to end up with a guitar as expensive as the Prestige for the reason I stated above..
Or do I?
haha, no, really, which model would you recommend? It's ok if it's not a Schecter. Any advice is welcome! Thanks!

Re: Advice on getting a second guitar
I just bought a MINT RG520QS, edge equipped and upgraded with Dimarzios....$250 used at a local store. Go on GC used nationwide and look for the following:
RG570, RG520, RG550...etc...
Call the store and ask for detailed pics to be sent to your email or phone. I do this almost once a week. You would be surprised at the deals you can find on really great "Pre-Prestige" models....

He's in Argentina--no GC there.
Try an RG321--great bang for the buck!

I have a dealer really close that sells one of these. Where are they made?

Hehe, I meant what country are they made in? Korea? China?
I've read good reviews about them.. I'm really considering this one.
The natural finish looks beautiful by the way.

Re: Advice on getting a second guitar
For the same price of the new RG321 there's someone selling a used RG350.. Which one would you pick?

Re: Advice on getting a second guitar
I'd go with the 321.
The 350 has a sub-par trem.
The 321 is fixed.
But, that's just my flavor.

And you are all missing the part the OP made bold -
string through
. Hard tail options, not tremolo options.

Yes--but he seems interested in the 321, and the only reason a string through was mentioned was for quick alternate tunings.
Based on that, I think he may have meant any non-locking trem guitars.

Indeed
And it's right in the price range I can afford. Unless I find something better used, I think I might get this one

Re: Advice on getting a second guitar
For a little while I had a love for the ESP LTD MH401NT. Still do but the last thing I need is another 6 string (just don't play less than 7 often).
Sounded and felt awesome! And they came stock with an Earvana nut copy that was AWESOME!
And for some reason, the store had two of them and they BOTH were missing a volume knob. . . . .

Re: Advice on getting a second guitar
Lol, I'm checking them out.
EDIT: The LTD is almost twice as much as the RG321 which is kind of out of the budget for what I'm looking (remember I don't want something too pricey). Plus I don't really crave the Les Paul shape.
