Advice on my custom guitar please, fellow jemsiters!

I have a guitar neck that I'm using for a custom guitar I'm getting built (pictured below). The body is going to be white Korina, and I'm getting an exotic wood top put on it (pretty thin, mostly cosmetic). The choices are: very nice quilted maple (no pic, havnt found quite the right piece yet), a figured walnut burl (picture 2 below, the dark one) and a figured mappa burl (picture 3 below, the light one). I know its my guitar and my decision, but which do you guys think I should go with? Thanks!

By the way, does anyone else see a demonic looking bunny face in the dark walnut burl? Kind of like a rorschach test, lol.

With such great flamed maple neck, I think I would go with a flamed maple top...

I considered that, but then I thought that it would really overwhelm the whole thing. I mean..highly flamed body, highly flamed fretboard...it would definitely be too much. Plus, I'd like to go with something exotic. Many people have guitars with flamed or quilted tops, but not many have burl .

Haha. Yeah the demonic bunny face is quite cool. I think I'm probably going to go with the lighter burl, with a flame maple border.

I prefer the mappa, i think it would go with that neck better, and I agree a flamed maple top might be overwhelming

dark figurated walnut and then, 'rosewood HEADSTOCK'.
it will bring the beautiful board and inlays OUT!
to complete it in a perfect match, gold hardware and creme pickups.

heh well, the headstock is maple like the neck. I decided on the mappa burl figured top with a white korina "frame" border. I dont like gold hardware cuz it fades and in my opinion it looks a little cheesy, so im going with chrome. And yeah, all the pickups will be creme .

Re: Advice on my custom guitar please, fellow jemsiters!

go with the burr walnut and veneer the headstock too!

I'm putting a walnut veneer on one of my project guitars and with the test swatches I've been playing with burr walnut is fast becoming my fave wood!

It may not be as bad as you would think. Check this out:
http://www.patsguitars.com/pats650.htm

I agree with you on the gold hardware, but with light wood, it might be hard to get away from it. I definitely would not do silver/chrome. I guess you'll have to use black if you don't use gold.

Btw, I dig the evil bunny. If you use that blank, I hope it'll be visible. I think you already have a name for the guitar.

No idea, I just did a search for a flamed maple fretboard -- hoping to find a living example and found this.
