American Deluxe Strat Neck Joint
I never thought I would be so excited about a strat. man!
I just came back from a
local guitar center
. I testdrove an Am deluxe strat with rosewood board. Aside from sounding awesome with
noiseless pickups
and S-1 switch the guitar played unbelievable because of the oval neck profile and the slightly scultped neck joint. It is not as good as an iby all access but it's good enough. My question is, is that a standard feature on all am deluxe strats? and when did fender start using that kind of joints and on what other models do they have it?
thanx

Re: American Deluxe Strat Neck Joint
It is a standard feature on the Am Deluxe Strats now, and they began to do that on 2004 models. The only other model that I've played that has that joint is the Stratosonic which has p90s and a short scale. It's a nice feature - nice and comfy. Nice to see Fender get into some more modern features on that model!

Re: American Deluxe Strat Neck Joint
Took 'em long enough. Others have done this since the early 90's. Looks like they're trying to "reinvent" themselves - have you seen the logo on their amps lately? Yeesh.
But yeah, it's good that they're making some moves forward.

Re: American Deluxe Strat Neck Joint
Jester700 - he he, yeah, did you see that "Metal Head" amp or whatever it is?? Complete rip off of the
Marshall Mode Four
or whatever that is with some Line 6 thrown in!!
Don't get me wrong, I love Fender stuff, but when they venture into more modern stuff they do kinda look like some 55 year old dad trying to wear a do-rag and bounce to a Snoop Dog CD.....

Re: American Deluxe Strat Neck Joint
great. it is on all am deluxe guitars!
This has changed my "guitar buying schedule". Now I am seriously considering a strat. The old square
neck joint
has always been a deal breaker to me. Now I am thinking Am deluxe ash strat with maple board,
tobacco sunburst
, colbalt noiseless pups, s-1 switch mmm...(droooooo)
damn you fender!

Re: American Deluxe Strat Neck Joint
Might I add guys that this neckjoint has a feature where you can adjust the pitch ofthe neck with just an
allen wrench
, no shims required. Very nifty design, something leo would have definitely loved

Re: American Deluxe Strat Neck Joint
yep - micro tilt neck adjustment. comes in very handy. the Am Deluxes are nice guitars. I have an older one that I was going to trade away, but I think I've decided to keep it and just swap out the pickups.
