Anybody own a Carvin BOLT?

I really think this is my next purchase, the bolt-t (wilkinson), maple neck, 14" radius, jumbo SS frets, mist blue metallic paint, pearloid pickguard, sperzels. what do you think?

Re: Anybody own a Carvin BOLT?

I had a bolt plus. I sold it to get a drum set for my son. If he didn't want drums, I would still have it.

I thought it was really good. The guitar was easy to play, resonated well, and I liked it more than a Fender, but that was my preference. They have recently taken the graphite rods out of the neck. Apparently the new truss rods they use, and the fact that they season the neck wood longer, make the graphite rods pointless. This will probably make the necks a little warmer sounding.

I think you will like the purchase. I plan on getting a new one at some point to replace the one I traded away. I will get a bolt plus H-S-S kit and make the lower cutout deeper. Then it will be pretty much identical to the new Dean Vinnie Moore. Also have to add the stainless steel frets. My Parker has spoiled me.

I've got a BOLT T.
Emerald green with blackburst edges.
and the 14" radius, cracking guitar, seriously it's really really great to play and it has only gone very slightly out of tune since I got it, and it's been everywhere with me and I use the bar a little more than a strat style trem should be used and it's fine!
And that's without the locking tuners!

Make sure you get yourself some Dimarzio Cruisers. Andy's single coil of choice, and might i add (from experience) my favorite single coil ever .
