Anybody recognize this Charvel?

I'm trying to find out exactly what model Charvel this guitar is. I just saw it yesterday at my local guitar store and the owner has no idea what model it is, but he is selling it for $750. All he knows is that it was made in the 80's.

Anybody recognize?

Indeed, looks like a Model 4 or even Model 6, but I always thought they had 3 mini-switches, not just one? Anyway, $750 sounds like an over-inflated price for it

Good to know. I was fairly interested in the guitar, but to tell you the truth I was hoping it'd be some great deal.

Either way I'm mainly an Ibanez kind of guy, but it's nice to have other guitars.

It's a 475 Deluxe. It essentially replaced the Model 4.

Yeah, the Model 6's were neck-through, weren't they?

Re: Anybody recognize this Charvel?

It's not a Model 6 as they were neck thru and had the three mini switches for each pickup.

And $750 sounds like a rip-off.

Re: Anybody recognize this Charvel?

Had a 6, Definitely not one, looks like a "XL" of some model number. The XL's had the "toothpaste logo" as well and were all bolt on I believe. I bought my 6 brand new for $695 OTD, so that is WAY high.

The model 6 also had the guitar logo. I always thought the 6 was the cream of the Charvel crop, and they don't go for anywhere near $750.00

I'll quote myself because folks seemed to have missed my post the first time.

It's a 475 Deluxe. End of story.

Re: Anybody recognize this Charvel?

Yes, Toneboy is absolutely right. Model 4s and 6s had individual mini toggles for each pickup. This has a single blade selector. Only 86 and 88 Model 4s and 6s had Floyd-type trems, but they were Jackson JT-6 trems. This is a Jackson Licensed Floyd, I believe a JT-590. Since it is a Toothpaste logo, I believe it was made around 89'-91'.
And $750 is DEFINITELY a rip-off.

Re: Anybody recognize this Charvel?

Toneboy is the man.

Those late 80's/early 90's MIJ Charvels are great guitars. I'd pay about $500 USD max for a 475 Deluxe myself.

Rock on!

Re: Anybody recognize this Charvel?

I think 500$ should be your top limit for this one...
Great looking guitar btw...
