Funny you should ask about this guitar; I was playing it in a store the other day. I really liked it, although I didn't buy yet. I was comparing it to a similarly priced Ibanez S (didn't get the model number), and active pickups were definitely noticeable. I'm not a real tone/pup guru, but I can say that I liked them in this case. I might end up going back for the guitar. Definitely love the Black Cherry finish, which is gorgeous, and the binding is nice as well.
