The truss rod is pretty cool, but other than that nothing appeals to me. I like playing on a scalloped fretboard once in a while, but after a certain depth it can just get annoying and pointless.

I played one about 10 years ago, didnt like it back then but wouldnt mind playing one now.
Im guessing they teach lightness of touch and maybe you get a little more speed because of that.

I heard about the new features and wasn't exactly bowled over.

I am a big Yngwie fan, and I owned a 2003 Yngwie USA Fender Strat, and it was a great guitar. But I don't miss it at all. I just never found a particular use for it, that my other guitars didnt already do. But it was a lovely guitar all the same.

For a little extra you can get a much better instrument in the Byrd Guitar Super Avianti (www.byrdguitars.com), I run www.yngwie.net and sold my YJM and a US Std Strat for one and don't regret it all... I have a 2nd SA on order due in March... be warned its an expensive habbit.
