Bad luck with EBMM JP's...

Hello!

Just to ask if JP musicman owners here have had bad luck or problems with their guitars..... I don't know if the quality controls are bad or what... But I was not very lucky with these guitars!

First one... A 6 string in grey... This one has several problems:
1) On 2 strings the piezo volume was dropping significantly, much lower than on other strings
2) The guitar didn't stay in tune AT ALL!! and I KNOW how ro set up a guitar!!

This one had to go and I sold it...

A few months later, I bought another one! I really love these guitars, very comfortable, great sound, piezo sound beautiful (when it works properly)... So I thought I just had bad luck...

Now I have a 6 string 2005 limited edition in Buttercream color! mmmm

But AGAIN! problems.. The guitar is perfect when I play it at home.. however, when I take it to rehearsals and play it at high volume:
1) Horrible feedback with the bridge pickup... No matter how is set my noise gate, that's really annoying!!
2) The volume knob doesn't go to zero... When it's turned all way down there is still some signal going to the amp!!!!!! Not a big problem but anyway....

For the price of these guitars I think these kind of issues should not pass the quality control! especially as you can detect them immediatly if you play the guitar 2 minutes!!!

Not I'm very afreaid of ordering a 7 string JP guitar... I don't want to recieve another rotten apple!!

What are your though about this??

Oh and I can't really deal withe EBMM, my warranty is void as I purchased the guitar in the US (new)... too expensive in Europe!

Thanks for your imput!

From what i hear, the chances of you getting 3 lemons in a row arent very high, but then again i thought 2 in a row would be very unlucky.

I love the look of them, its a shame they're never in the shops around here.

Sounds like you've had some terrible luck there.

The only faults I've seen on EBMM are the typical neck joint finish cracks, which are cause mostly from the useless cases they use. Apart from that, every EBMM I've played has been perfect.

Did you buy those guitars new or second hand? I would have returned then/complained and got another one asap personally.

My friends developed some piezo problems and bad action after a while. EBMM took care of that though, now its good as new

I played one in guitar center, and was not at all impressed. LIke TongueShredder said, come home to Ibanez.

I own a couple of these and never had an issue. I do know of one student of mine who had a faulty jack problem, but EBMM customer service got him taken care of.

Re: Bad luck with EBMM JP's...

sounds like you might have a cold solder joint in the magnetics with recards to the volume point, check the ground wires too...if you're not adept at that have a tech clean up the soldering...I'd bet that's your problem right there.
