Beginners tuning problems....

I have an Ibanez Jumpstart. The tuning device that comes with it sucks. Whenever I turn the know, it either goes over the "0" or way below. Any little tuning tips?

Unfortunately, there really isn't too much you can do short of replacing the tuners on the guitar. *

The problem is that the tuners probably have a gear ratio that will make it difficult to hit the 440 mark. *My only advice is to take your time and turn the tuners slowly, making slight adjustments to alter the pitch.

A friend also suggested that the nut may cause tuning stability problems too.

get an new set of decent tuners.
